Angelica and I have put our power-point together on problem-based learning. This is probally the fifth version we have. With each version we are improving our visual element of our presentation. I was able to attach a video from u-tube into our power-point with out looping, this may seem like a small feat but it took numerous attempts. We continue to work on our power-point and are meeting daily to assure that the presentation flows easily. Hope all are well.

How to Bring Our Schools Out of the 20th Century
How to Bring Our Schools Out of the 20th Century
In researching problem-based learning material via the internet, I located this Time magazine article on education utilizing many of the technical tools we have been introduced to during class. Technology is a great tool in achieving the advancement in education. I found this article to be very interesting.
My search continues for scholarly sources for our presentation. However, many of the articles I read on PBl were for other than scholarly resources.
Researching a subject often leads us down many paths, that all have some value.

Second Life Adventure
I was able to explore Second life on Sunday, I had difficulty navigating through the site. Angelica and I were hoping that we could use this new technology to create a group situation for a problem-based learning demonstration. With two of us, we are experiencing challenges creating a group. We have thought about Voki's, and Angelica has explored the state web site in an effort to create a group, we asked our class members in the Victoria area for possible assistance as actors in our group. We are still brainstorming ideas, for the best possible scenario.
I think that second life could bring on-line nursing students the ability to share experiences and interact as a group.

Glog
This morning and well into this afternoon, I attempted to utilize another tool provided to us by Ms.B. Hoerig. I really enjoyed creating this glog, it was very challenging, trying to incorporate media and sound into the glog.
Glog would be a useful tool to incorporate into education. For an on-line course in introductions, students can display images and sound for a multifactorial introduction.
My glog is primative as it is, but with practice and patience the use of glogs can be a great tool in on line learning. Angelica and I continue in our search via the internet, and of course the tools provided by Ms. Hoerig to make a visual impact with our presentation.

Voki
This evening I was able to utilize one of the tools that Ms. B. Hoerig shared with us on Thursday via Adobe connect. It was not difficult, and think this is a wonderful way for teachers to connect with students. I choose a dog voki, but there are many choices available. Angelica and I are trying to locate and utilize a variety of tools for our presentation.
The world of wiki and blogs...
This has been a great learning excersise for me. For the most part my learning has been exactly what Jessica and I are working on, problem based learning. Currently we are working to merge, both Jessica's wiki page and mine into one. I will keep you posted on our progress. We have elicited some outside help with a email to Ms. B. Hoerig. Hopefully we will be able to merge the two pages into one without having to delete our enteries.
